“You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others” (2 Timothy 2:2 NLT).

What does discipleship really mean? A great insight into this question can be found in Mark 3:14 where we read Jesus, “appointed twelve (disciples) that they might be with him and that he might send them out . . .” (NIV). For three years Jesus modeled a brand of discipleship that could never be imitated in a short course or Sunday school class. It was up close and personal. It was Life-to-Life®.

The goal of our conference is to foster growth and refreshment for all of us as disciples of Jesus, each in our individual seasons and contexts. We’re going to dig into the scriptures together and explore God’s plan for disciplemaking both in our main sessions, and in some great elective seminars you’ll get to choose from. We’d also love to minister to your kids (10 and under) and provide opportunities for you to further connect with The Navigators and peers from around our city!

Our Speaker

Mutua Mahiaini

We’re thrilled to have Mutua Mahiaini as our guest speaker as he will be delivering two dynamic messages on the biblical and practical approach of Life-to-Life Discipleship. We trust that you will feel inspired and equipped by Mutua to grow deeper in Jesus and to help others to do the same.

Mutua serves as International President of The Navigators overseeing the Worldwide Partnership of more than 5,300 staff serving in 115 countries.

Mutua was born in Kenya and committed his life to Christ at the age of 10 through the influence of his Christian parents. While in high school, he made his first Navigator contact and started being discipled. After acquiring his undergraduate degree to teach French, Mutua lived in France for two years while he obtained his master’s degree. He returned to Kenya and taught French for two years before joining Navigator staff in 1981.

Mutua’s first Navigator assignment was as a campus leader in Nairobi. He was appointed National Director for Kenya in 1986. Mutua and Stephanie and their family moved to Côte d’Ivoire in 1995 to serve as missionaries leading the national work and coaching leaders in other French-speaking countries. In 1998, Mutua was appointed as Africa Regional Director, based in Nairobi, Kenya. In September 2011, Mutua joined Mike Treneer’s International Executive Team. In 2015 he was selected as International President of The Navigators and began his new role April 19, 2015.

Mutua and Stephanie moved to Colorado Springs in April 2012. They have 4 adult children.  Their son Mahiaini and daughters Njoki and Gathoni live in Kenya. Their son Kanaiya and his wife Tiffany live in British Columbia, Canada.
